Family law is a relatively broad legal practice area that encompasses a wide array of legal issues, including marriage, divorce, adoption, child support, paternity and the emancipation of minors just to name a few. The articles of Governance family law section of the Alabama State Bar Articles I through Article X goes into extensive layout of how this practice is performed and carried out. The Alabama State Bar Family Law Section was formed in 1984 and is one of the largest and most active sections of the Alabama Bar. The Section provides access to the state-wide memberships base through an email listserv group, hosts an annual CLE conference at the beach each summer and assists in the development and presentation of other CLE programs throughout the year. The Section monitors legislation and appellate court opinions that affect family law practitioners and keeps section members apprised of significant legislative and case law changes. (ref (c) 2021 all rights reserved)
