Adoptions As a lawyer, there are few areas of practice as gratifying as helping families grow through adoption. Adopting a child can be a long process, but it is one that ultimately results in a new member being added to your family.
In order to adopt a child in Alabama, you must be at least 19 years old, be able to meet the physical and psychological needs of the child, and, unless closely related to the child, pass an extensive background check. Additionally, the parental rights of the birth parent or parents must be terminated. This is often accomplished by consent of the biological parent. However, in cases where a birth parent is unfit or cannot be located, this may not be so simple. The entire process can seem overwhelming and that’s where we come in. Let the attorneys of Pruitt, Tudisco, & Richardson, P.C., assist you in growing your family.
